| Founded in the fall of 2005, the Rome Concert Band presented its inaugural season in the summer of 2006 with two outdoor pops concerts in downtown Rome, NY. The band has continued the tradition of open air summer concerts with the addition of outreach performances during the winter and spring months. The Band is based in Rome and all 45 members are from the Central New York region. The mission of the Rome Concert Band is to promote a sense of community and quality of life by presenting entertaining high-quality musical performances. All performances are free and open to the public. Additionally, the Band exists to supplement community life through outreach programs to children and senior citizens. All of the musicians in the Band are professionally trained. Most make their living playing and teaching music, and all are recognized for their fine performance skills. |
